Bourg-en-Bresse is full of surprises. The Bourg-en Bresse community tourist office unveils the well-kept secrets of the historic centre of the city: go back in time while walking in the old quarters guided by the tour "Journey through the centuries".

Wander through the city's parks and gardens, admire fountains and statues while following the tour suggested by the Tourist Office and discover the city in a different light

Family

For a quick trip with the family there's nothing better than Bouvent Lake, just 5 minutes from the town centre. A path, less than 3km long, takes you round the lake and you can take a break on the beach or at the children's playground.

27 trails

The Bourg-en-Bresse community offers 27 trails to help you see the surroundings of the town from a new angle: roman chapels, Bressan farms and mills, wildlife along the rivers and the closest lakes of the Dombes, or views over the Bresse plain and to the Revermont, foothills of the Jura Mountains.

These itineraries are all on the map available free of charge from the Tourist Office.

Blazed trails

Many other blazed trails are available around Bourg-en-Bresse, and even in the city centre as since 2010 a pedestrian tour allows discovery of the old city before moving on to Seillon and Bouvent. Hiking guides and maps are available from the Tourist Office to help you visit the Bresse, the Bugey and even the nature trails of the Revermont.

The Seillon national forest

The Seillon national forest is an enormous playground for nature lovers !
Your children are ready for an adventure? The "discovery" trail is made for them! By following Troglo, the little oak, they'll learn all the secrets of the forest...

Fancy a breath of fresh air with a walk, a jog or some exercises? Take the "sports" trail!
